Last week authorities arrested a Korean couple who’s child died while they were too busy to care for it – instead, raising a child in a virtual world.
Every day, Kim Yoo-chul (41) and his partner Choi Mi-sun (25), would spend 12 hours at a neighborhood internet cafe to raise a virtual baby girl named Anima while their real-life, three-month-old daughter stayed at home.
Their real-world daughter was born prematurely and never named. The couple only fed their child once a day as they were too immersed in the gaming world online.
The couple returned home one day from the internet cafe to find their daughter dead. The autopsy showed that the baby died of malnutrition.
Stories like this are so heart wrenching!
